Every year, between July and August, various events and international folklore performances are staged, with the participation of dozens of folkore groups from all over the world. These performances take place in a number of towns, but for the most part in Rome and Cori.

The historic celebration of the "first nativity scene in the world" dates back to 1223 by Saint Francis, who was in retreat in a hermitage on Mount Lacerone

Viterbo. Macchina di Santa Rosa
The Macchina di Santa Rosa is a tower illuminated by candles and lights; it is thirty metres tall and weighs around five tonnes. The event commemorates the transport of the Saint's body in 1258. This remarkable and highly emotional spectacle takes place every year on 3 September in the heart of the medieval town of Viterbo.

The event, which dates back to the 16th century, features the donkeys’ race, a historical parade, music performances and the distribution of traditional local products in each of the six village districts.

Genazzano’s Infiorata commemorates the age-old feast of the Sacred Heart, and calls to mind the beauty of nature. Hundreds of people work side by side to stage the event.
