Each year, the Auditorium is transformed into one of the largest red carpets in the world and the capital is immersed in a cinematographic atmosphere. The festival has played host to international previews of major films, and leading actors and directors such as Martin Scorsese, Robert De Niro, Al Pacino and Meryl Streep.

Pasolini, the Film Director
His film work, constantly alternating with his writing, took a decisive turn at the beginning of the Sixties when he made the movie “Accattone” (1961). The film was the result of a troubled period, when the Italian Social Movement, a neofascist party with seats in Parliament, openly supported the Tambroni government. The film was deeply influenced by the political climate of the time.
