According to Taste Atlas, the portal analysing the most beloved and sough after typical dishes in the world, Rome is the best gourmet city on earth. The Italian Capital ranked first among 16,601 competitor cities, with 395,000 votes.
Among the most famous Roman dishes we find first courses, such as carbonara and amatriciana, but also supplì (mozzarella stuffed fried rice balls), pizza by the slice, pizza with figs, pinsa (the Ancient Roman pizza) and saltimbocca (Roman-style veal slices with ham). Among the most appreciated specialities we can taste maritozzo (brioche bun filled with whipped cream), ice cream, abbacchio allo scottadito (roast lamb), coda alla vaccinara (oxtail stew), artichokes, and Roman-style tripe.
On the podium also Bologna and Naples, the second and the third. Turin qualified eighth and Florence fifteenth.
Once again, Rome confirms itself as the city of dreams, the world capital of beauty and exquisiteness.
