The Stadio Olimpico and the Parco del Foro Italico will host the European Athletics Championships from Friday, June 7 to Wednesday, June 12, 2024.
The best athletes and European champions will participate in this eagerly awaited international show, relaunching Great Athletics in Italy. We will admire the performances of Marcell Jacobs, after his training at the Rieti Stadium, of Clarissa Japichino, Antonella Palmisano, Filippo Tortu, the young Mattia Furlani and the Capitano Gianmarco Tamberi, the flag-bearer of the Azzurri at the next Olympic Games in Paris. Number ones who, with their medals and records, have rekindled the enthusiasm of the public for athletics and sport.
The matches will take place at the Stadio Olimpico, which hosts up to 70,000 spectators, while the training sessions before the matches will be practiced at the Foro Italico, in the Stadio dei Marmi “Pietro Mennea”, the magnificent running field with sixty marble statues portraying athletes from different Olympic disciplines.
Other races will be run along the streets of Rome: the 20 km racewalk at the Foro Italico and the half marathon through the most iconic sites of the Capital, with arrival at the Stadio Olimpico. A show within a show!
