On Sunday, September 8, 2024, the new track “Valle degli Angeli” will be inaugurated on Mount Terminillo by the Club Alpino Italiano Sezione di Rieti.
The path, running for thirteen kilometres through the territories of Cantalice and Rieti, is a unique attraction for EE category expert trekking lovers. It can be covered in about four hours and a half, within an altitude variation up to eight-hundred metres.
The CAI path 402 begins in Pian De Valli, and then, after passing by the Rifugio La Fossa, joins the “Valle degli Angeli” trailhead. Further ahead, at altitude of 2046 metres, it intersects path 401 at Passo del Cavallo. The last stage, at 2108 metres, is the Rifugio M. Rinaldi, from where to enjoy the spectacular view of the massive mountain chain of Terminillo, together with the Monti della Laga peaks, and the Mounts Gran Sasso and Velino on the horizon. Take a break in this magic place, then proceed along path 401 until you reach Sella Cinzano. From here, continue to the right in the direction of the Chiesetta degli Alpini, and you will come back to Pian De Valli.
