From December 8, 2024, inside the Granarone, an ancient barn from 1632 in via di Porta Segreta in Calcata, it will be possible to admire the Presepe di Marjicke Van der Maden, a Dutch artist who moved to the village in the 1980s.
She created this work of art using a special wood pulp and precious fabrics like silk and velvet and made it unique by portraying the true inhabitants of Calcata, intent in their activities. Yesterday and today’s characters represent the people who had to abandon the burg in the 1950s and the current residents. Advertised by the Italian and foreign press, the Nativity Scene exhibition by Marjicke is eagerly awaited by the entire community of Calcata and not only.
