Guarcino and Vico del Lazio, both in the province of Frosinone, recently received the Orange Flag from the Touring Club Italiano (TCI), a prestigious prize awarded to small inland villages for their blend of beauty, culture, and sustainability.
With these new certifications, the total number of Orange Flags in Lazio rises to 27, a record testifying the commitment by the small towns to enhance their cultural and landscape heritage.

A glimpse of the alleys in Guarcino
Guarcino, perched on the slopes of the Ernici Mountains among ancient churches, historic buildings, and medieval streets, preserves a significant historical and artistic heritage. The village is also famous for its gastronomic traditional specialities, such the renowned almond biscuits Amaretti, the symbol of the town, celebrated every summer with the Amaretto Festival.

Vico nel Lazio, an extraordinary fortified village, surrounded by an intact wall with twenty-five crenellated towers and three gates, offers visitors the opportunity to enjoy the old Ciociaria atmosphere. Not to be missed are the Collegiate Church of San Michele Arcangelo, the Romanesque Church of Santa Maria, and the Palazzo del Governatore, today seat of the Museo della Pace.
