The towns of Minturno and Cassino will celebrate the Civil Merit Day, by signing a historic twinning agreement. The event will take place on Monday, August 3, 2026, in the magnificent setting of the Roman Theatre of Minturnae and the Ponte Real Ferdinando on Via Ferdinando II di Borbone.
The two towns share the tragic events of World War II and the battles fought along the Gustav Line. A gold medal for Civil Merit will be awarded to Minturno and another one for military valour to Cassino. Through this twinning, the towns will celebrate their mutual commitment to promoting and sharing cultural, educational, and dialogue-based initiatives, particularly those aimed at younger generations.
A concert by the “Tartini Territorial Orchestra of Latina”, conducted by Maestro Antonio Cipriani, will be performed before the ceremony and will include iconic film scores, a journey through the timeless pieces of legendary composers, such as Ennio Morricone, Nino Rota, Henry Mancini, Max Steiner, and Luis Bacalov. The free concert will be enriched by the performances of the soprano Giorgia Tirocchi and the pianist Pierluigi D’Ippolito, while Margherita Adamo will lead the event.
