Only 90 kilometres from Rome, Sabaudia offers picture-perfect landscapes: the Circeo promontory towering above the wide-open blue sea, kilometres of white-sand beaches and dunes, the Mediterranean brush and the four coastal lakes: Paola (or Sabaudia), Caprolace, Monaci and Fogliano. Like Sabaudia, the four large lakes are comprised in the Circeo National Park, characterising its nature and atmosphere.

The dunes with their particular flora and the beaches of very fine white sand, visible even from the seafront promenade, are an invitation to come to Sabaudia off season as well.

In summer the beaches, outdoor restaurants and private villas attract many tourists. The coast has however maintained its natural appearance. There are still long stretches of public beaches with wooden boardwalks that run through the Mediterranean brush and allow you to reach the shore comfortably.

The beauty of Sabaudia, one of the swankiest summer resort towns in the Lazio region, has always attracted celebrities, politicians, football stars, and film directors. To mention only a few, Alberto Moravia, who loved walking along the shore, and Pasolini, who was intrigued by the contrast between Sabaudia’s natural environment and the rationalist style of its buildings.
