After last year’s success, the free initiative Cammini Aperti” – Special Edition Jubilee 2025 will be back on May 10 and 11, 2025.

It will include thirty-two events and excursions on the religious paths of St. Francis and St. Benedict, and along the Via Lauretana. The five regions Emilia-Romagna, Lazio, Marche, Tuscany and Umbria will welcome walkers, who will be able to enjoy a slow, spiritual and sustainable experience.

The St. Francis’ Path

These fascinating paths, open to the public only on this special occasion, can be easily travelled accompanied by a tour guide and appropriately equipped.

St. Benedict’s Way – The Abbey of Subiaco

Lazio will be present with St. Francis and St. Benedict Ways, promoting three stretches of about twelve kilometres on each route. A maximum of 100 participants will be admitted.

St. Francis’ Way – Monastery of the Clarisse Eremite in Fara Sabina

The Monastery of the Clarisse Eremite in Fara Sabina, a symbol of St. Francis’ Way, was built by Francesco Barberini in the seventeenth century at the behest of the Reverend Francesca Farnese. It developed around the fifteenth-century abbey, located on the pre-existing base of the eleventh-century castle. Inside, the Monastery preserves a fully furnished sixteenth-century kitchen, a valuable cycle of paintings and the “Museo del silenzio”.

St. Benedict’s Way – The Abbey of Trisulti in Collepardo

On St. Benedict’s Way, stands the Certosa di Trisulti, a monastic complex founded in the early 1200s. It hosts an ancient library with a collection of precious books and an eighteenth-century pharmacy, which still preserves its original furnishings and ancient vases for medicinal herbs. Also noteworthy are the wooden choirs from 1564 and 1688.
