Castel San Pietro Romano in the videoclip by Checco Zalone.

The fantastic fictional location of San Masculo, the village featured in the new videoclip by the famous actor/comedian Checco Zalone L’ultimo giorno di patriarcato (The Last Day of Patriarchy), is the beautiful Castel San Pietro Romano.

The enchanting village, recognized as one of the most beautiful burgs in Italy, hosted on last February the movie crew, who shot this short video, now a hit on social media. Released on March 8, the International Women’s Day, it ironically expresses the suffering of a man, nostalgic for his male privileges on his last day of patriarchy.

The peculiar charm of Castel San Pietro Romano, with its narrow streets and stone houses, also fascinated in the past renowned directors such as Luigi Comencini in “Bread, Love and Dreams” and “Bread, Love and Jealousy”, Dino Risi in “Bread, Love and…”, and Sergio Corbucci in “The Two Marshals”.

Even today, after so many years, Castel San Pietro Romano keeps its most authentic beauty intact.
