The VII Autumn edition of the “Catacombs Day” will be back on Saturday, October 12, 2024. As in the Spring edition, the theme of the Day will be “From Memory to Prayer”, chosen by Papa Francesco as a preparatory path towards the 2025 Jubilee.
Six Roman sites, usually closed to the public, will be visitable for free: San Lorenzo, Tecla, Pretestato, Museo della Torretta in the Callistiano District, and the Fornai region in Domitilla and Generosa.
On the same day, special visits will be organized throughout Lazio to the ancient catacombs of San Senatore in Albano Laziale, Ad Decinum in Grottaferrata, Monte Stallone in Formello, Santa Teodora in Rignano Flaminio, Santa Savinilla in Nepi, Santa Cristina in Bolsena, and Ad Vicesimum in Morlupo.
From “Casaleccio” in Morlupo, it will be possible to take trekking excursions into the Veio Park or, for the children, to experience an interesting archaeo-speleological laboratory searching for ancient findings and hidden extinct species.
