Exceptional Caravaggio exhibition in Rome

Caravaggio, the most beloved painter of all times, is back in Rome during the Jubilee 2025 to celebrate the fourth centenary of his death, with an extraordinary exhibition displaying 24 masterpieces from all over the world.

Until July 6, at the “Gallerie Nazionali di Arte Antica di Palazzo Barberini, works coming mainly from all over Italy, Naples, Milan and Florence, but also from the United States, Spain and Ireland, will be exhibited.

Supported by the “Direzione Generale Musei – Ministero della Cultura” and the Main Partner “Banca Intesa Sanpaolo”, the event offers visitors an opportunity to deeply understand the artistic and cultural revolution brought about by Michelangelo Merisi. The works also include the “Portrait of Maffeo Barberini”, publicly exposed for the first time after more than sixty years after its rediscovery, and “Ecce homo”, one of the canvases attributed to Caravaggio only in 2021 and exhibited for the first time in Italy.
