Five Doves of Peace in Castel Gandolfo

The historic centre of Castel Gandolfo is enriched with five new artistic works representing a dove of peace. Thanks to the collaboration with the municipality, craftswomen from local workshops have created five ceramic works inspired by Picasso’s ‘Dove of Peace‘.

The artists chose to place the works at five different entry points of the city to welcome the citizens and visitors coming to Castel Gandolfo with a universal sign of peace and beauty. The locations are the Bus Terminal in Piazzale Sandro Pertini, Via della Stazione at the corner with Via Palazzo Pontificio, Piazza Cavallotti, and two at the beginning and end of the Cammino della Fraternità.

Each dove is unique and comes with a small ceramic plaque bearing the title of the work and the name of the workshop where it was made: La Musa Mosaici, Come nelle favole, Resedalab, Segni di Gioia and Malimbo.

Thanks to this project, the entire community of Castel Gandolfo, one of I Borghi più Belli d’Italia  (Italy’s Most Beautiful Villages) in Lazio, is sending out lasting signs of peace to the world, once again reinforcing its identity values based on welcome and solidarity between people.
