A space to redesign the role of women in literature is the motive behind the inception of inQuiete, Festival of writers in Rome, made possible by the MIA Association.
The idea of a festival that focuses on women’s intelligence and talent is the driving force of this project that has united minds, hearts and emotions. The women’s bookstore Tuba is where it all began, and not by chance. For ten years now, in fact, the bookstore has been promoting the skills and works of women – in addition to many other things – representing a point of reference in Pigneto and throughout Rome. This festival is a space where people can talk, meet and reflect on who we are and where we are going.
A vital space.
It is divided into four days full of events, all dedicated to women who write, and male and female readers. A time to be together, to share a precious heritage, to reinforce the narrative pact between female writers and the public and release the flow of emotions that writing and reading can encourage. Every word of the other belongs to us. Every reading can change our day, can make us feel less alone, can make us smile and laugh.
The Mia Association bet on a great response from the public and won: knowing that it was not alone in having understood the widespread desire for a space and time dedicated to women’s literature.
