The Orsini Naro Castle of Mompeo is the winner of the competition “La Dimora si fa Bella 2024”, promoted by “Lazioinnova” for the best Christmas installation belonging to the “Dimore Storiche del Lazio”.
The selection, held in December 2024 on the extraordinary opening of the Lazio Historic Homes, rewarded their originality, creativity and artistic quality, as well as materials and artisan techniques, in creating a magic Christmas atmosphere. The highlight of the Castle has been the original life-size nativity scene inside its caves, created in wood and hand-painted according to local tradition. The setting was enriched with a sumptuously set table, Christmas trees, a Santa Claus’s house, garlands and lights.
The Municipality, the Pro Loco and the whole community of the small village in Sabina contributed to the creation of this precious installation. The entrance ticket cost of 5,000 euros will be used for improving interventions at the Orsini Naro Castle and for the enhancement of Mompeo cultural heritage.
