The first edition of “Olifest!”, the Aurunci Olive Oil and Identity Festival, will be celebrated on the weekends of December 6-7 and December 13-14, 2025. The municipalities of Lenola, Campodimele, Pico, Formia, and Itri will host a rich programme of tastings, markets, folk music, and workshops.
The initiative, dedicated to producers, residents, tourists, and enthusiasts, is aimed at enhancing the inland areas of Lazio and at strengthening the Aurunci identity and knowledge through gastronomic traditions, sense of community, and slow tourism.
During the event, the first edition of the competition “L’Oro Verde del Parco – Premio Aurunco” will be celebrated. Promoted by the Parco dei Monti Aurunci, together with CAPOL (Centro Assaggiatori Produzioni Olivicole di Latina), “Olifest!” will promote the best extra virgin olive oils produced in the Reserve and surrounding areas. The awards ceremony will be held on Sunday, December 14, 2025, in the council chamber of the Municipality of Itri.
In addition, on Saturday, December 13, 2025, in Itri, the technical-scientific conference “L’Oliva di Gaeta e i Cambiamenti Climatici” will be conducted by experts, agronomists, climatologists, and institutional representatives.
