The five rural towns Canale Monterano, Gaeta, Pontinia, Rivodutri and Sabaudia in Lazio have been awarded the recognition “Spighe Verdi 2024” by the Ministero della Cultura.
The prize is part of a national project by the FEE (Foundation for Environmental Education), which also assigns the Blue Flag to coastal municipalities all around the world.
The award criteria are the enhancement of the rural heritage, food and wine traditions, local businesses, typical products, tourist routes, and culture, all representing the deep roots of the country.
