The Castello del Gallo in Mandela opens to the public

The magnificent Castello del Gallo and its gardens in Mandela will be open to the public from July 5, 2025.

Nestled among the silent hills and woods of the Parco Naturale dei Monti Lucretili, the Castello del Gallo, is a charming noble residence, surrounded by centuries-old trees and rich in evocative paths, a perfect dialogue between nature and architecture.

The Castle and its enchanting gardens are now open to visitors, offering a timeless experience through guided tours, cultural events, and immersive itineraries among shaded avenues, secret corners and panoramic terraces.

The viewpoint below the Castle was made famous by the poet Horace Flaccus, who praised it while travelling to the villa donated to him by Maecenas. The estate later experienced significant ups and downs and, in the nineteenth century, it became a destination for travellers on the Grand Tour, poets, and writers, such as Wolfgang Goethe, whose stay is documented by the so-called “Loggia di Goethe”.

The Castello del Gallo is visitable every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 10:00 am to 6:30 pm. For information and reservations, please visit www.castellodelgallo.it.
