The Civic Archaeological Museum of Fara in Sabina has the new name “Museo Civico Archeologico della Sabina Tiberina”. The change was proposed by the Direttore Alessandra Petra, in agreement with the “Soprintendenza Archeologia Belle Arti e Paesaggio per l’Area Metropolitana di Roma e per la provincia di Rieti”.
The Museum, inside the prestigious Palazzo Brancaleoni, preserves a growing number of finds discovered in the Sabina Tiberina area in recent years, and displays several installations. The extraordinarily valuable archaeological finds come from the ancient towns of Cures and Eretum, the site of the Necropolis of Colle del Forno in the plain of Montelibretti.
Among the most important attractions on display, noteworthy are the Tomb XXXVI with the sumptuous Throne, the Cippus of Cures and Tomb XI, better known as the “Hall of the Prince Chariot”.
