The exhibition “La Musica Meccanica” will be visitable in the Borgo Fantasma of Celleno until May 5, 2025. This extraordinary display offers visitors the opportunity to listen to the charming sounds of talking machines, operated by mechanical devices.
Born from the passion of the collector Mario Valentini, the exhibition features over one hundred fifty musical machines, including street organs, gramophones, phonographs and jukeboxes, an extraordinary journey through time, from the late nineteenth century to the late twentieth century.
Among the most significant rare instruments, the eighteenth-century Serinette, a small automatic crank-operated organ, the Violano, a mechanical device simultaneously reproducing the sounds a violin and a piano and talking machines such as the Edison’s phonograph and the Berliner’s gramophone.
The exhibition, organized by the “Associazione Benvenuto Cellini” with the patronage of the Municipality of Celleno, is open every day from 10:00 am to 01:00 pm and from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm, with free admission.
