The infiorate of Gerano and Genzano di Roma were also exhibited in Florida, USA, at the “Sarasota Int’l Chalk Festival”, the first international festival of pavement art, which involve artists from all over the world.
During the event, that took place from November 8 to 10, 2024, the streets of Sarasota got decorated with colourful works of art created with natural materials, such as chalk, sawdust, salt, sand, and flower petals, an extraordinary open-air museum.
The floral carpets, assembled by artists from Gerano and Genzano di Roma , fascinated the visitors. The flower masters from the Regions Lazio and Abruzzo, with the town of Giulianova, introduced the Italian art of the Infiorate to the whole world.
The artisans from Gerano designed a magnificent portrait of the Madonna del Cuore, to whom the local faithful community has been dedicating the spectacular Infiorata, today a candidate as a UNESCO Intangible Heritage, for three centuries.
