At the beginning of the summer, eighteen metres long and seven metres high inflatable sculpture will be placed on the Lungotevere in Rome, between Ponte Umberto I and Ponte Sant’Angelo. “The Lovers”, the latest work by the Italian street artist Millo, was not only inspired by the magnificent beauty of Rome, but also by its legendary name, Amor (read in reverse).
The huge artwork depicts two lovers embraced on the bank, dreamily gazing at the river and the city before them. It is part of the 2025 edition of “Lungo il Tevere…Roma, un fiume di Cultura”, a cultural event held along the banks of the Roman river.
Millo, whose real name is Francesco Camillo Giorgino, has issued an invitation on his social media channels: “Andate a salutarli – saranno lì, abbracciati, per tutta l’estate”. (Go and say hello to them, they will be there, embraced, for the whole summer).
