The “Loggia dei Vini” at Villa Borghese reopens to the public

The elegant “Loggia dei Vini” at Villa Borghese in Rome, built between 1609 and 1618 by Cardinal Scipione Borghese, will reopen and be available for meetings and parties.

Until January 26, 2025, the contemporary art exhibition “LAVINIA” will be held inside the Loggia, in honour of Lavinia Fontana, the first official woman artist in the history of the Western Art.

The prestigious oval-shaped building hosts a vault with stucco frames and the fresco “The Banquet of the Gods” by Archita Ricci. The exhibition displays works by Ross Birrell & David Harding, Monika Sosnowska, Enzo Cucchi, Gianni Politi, Piero Golia, and Virginia Overton.

The project, created by Ghella and promoted by Roma Capitale, includes free entrance to the visitors from Thursday to Sunday from 9.00 am to 7:00 pm. Starting from October 27, 2024, closing will be advanced at 5:00 pm.
