From July 1 to August 31, 2025, the free beach of Torre Astura in Nettuno, one of the most beautiful and beloved coasts in Lazio, reopens to the public.
The beach is characterized by eight km of golden sand, dunes and Mediterranean scrub, and includes an extraordinary medieval fortress, a pentagonal tower immersed in the water and surrounded by walls and battlements, connected to the mainland through an ancient brick bridge. A destination not to be missed for lovers of wild, uncontaminated nature, the beach of Torre Astura, within the territory of the UTTAT (Ufficio Tecnico Territoriale Armamenti Terrestri) of the Ministero della Difesa, Poligono Militare di Nettuno, is reachable from Foceverde through a path crossing an evocative pine forest.
On Saturdays and Sundays, a shuttle bus service will be available for one euro from the centre of Nettuno to the pine forest near the beach. In July and August, the free visit will be possible every day from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., and, in the month of September, only on Saturdays and Sundays, with free parking in via Valmontorio. Opening times and shuttle bus timetables can be consulted on the official website of the Municipality of Nettuno..
