Torrice (FR) is located on a hill, 320 m above sea level, just 7 km from Frosinone and a little over 100 km from Rome. Its historical centre has a clearly medieval conformation, with one fortress or Rocca surrounded by houses, enclosed within one set of walls.

The first mention of the town, under the jurisdiction of Veroli, is recorded in the Papal Bull of Urban III (1097). In the years to follow, the various bishops who succeeded each other as leaders of the Diocese of Veroli, reconfirmed the fiefdom to the lords of Torrice, Ripi, Pofi.

In the 14th century Torrice belonged to the Caietani of Fondi. In the 15th century the pope granted the fiefdom to the Counts of Ceccano. In the 16th century, the church reconfirmed the Statutes of Torrice.

In the historic centre, visitors can admire the remains of the castle, the Palazzo of the Manni Marquises.

Also worth visiting is the 17th-century church of San Lorenzo, with a splendid painting by Cavalier d’Arpino, depicting the martyrdom of Saint Sebastian. The church of Santa Lucia, with valuable paintings and wooden statues, is also of considerable interest.
