Salisano, in the province of Rieti, is a small town located along Via Tancia, 36 km from the capital of the province and 60 km from Rome, at the foot of Mount Ode (932 m asl). It stands at the top of a promontory with very steep slopes, where a breathtaking panorama can be enjoyed. It is a destination for all those who love the tranquillity and mild climate of a hilly landscape.

In the surrounding areas it is possible to practice trekking and short excursions in the mountains; guided visits for the rediscovery of places of ancient historical memory such as Roccabaldesca, the Convent of San Diego, Torrette and Torracce and, finally, organized visits to the hydroelectric plant of Acea located in the territory of Salisano and inaugurated in 1940, which exploits the Peschiera and the Capore springs, producing electricity and conveying their waters towards Rome.

As for the delicacies of the territory typical of Salisano, there are the “Maccheroni a fezze,” made by pulling dough with oil-covered hands to form a single thin spaghetti, served plain or with mutton sauce, but always with plenty of pecorino cheese.
