In the heart of Ciociaria, in the old town of the beautiful village of Arce, you can visit the Railroad Museum of Valle del Liri.
A little over a year after its inauguration, the Museum has been successful with all age groups, especially children.
It consists of a large 15-square-metre model in HO scale that reproduces the station and the railway station of Arce, complete with driving simulator. Four computer-controlled convoys alternate and represent some of the most significant moments in the history of the railway.
In addition to the permanent scenic representation of the Valle del Liri, the Museum organizes cultural events, conferences and debates that help make the Arce area, the Roccasecca-Arce-Avezzano railway and the Valle del Liri known.
You can book guided tours, also available for school groups.
The Museum is located in the Town Hall in Via del Milite Ignoto.
Directions: by car: from the A1 Rome-Naples motorway, take the Ceprano exit, then the SR6 Via Casilina;
by train: from the Avezzano-Roccasecca line, get off at Arce and from there it is a 13-minute walk.
