Inaugurated in 2005, and dedicated to the brilliant Italian actor, the library is located in the historic centre of Pomezia near the Palazzo Comunale (Town Hall). The building’s architecture, with its clean contemporary style, is divided into two levels and has approximately 25,000 publications in its holdings.
The ground floor houses one multimedia room, a reading space with periodicals and the Youth section, consisting of a room for children and a wing reserved for students. The first floor, equipped with a conference room, has a section of local history and a collection of books of poetry and miscellanea, donated by the writer Domenico Defelice.
The Institute is part of the MLOL digital library and the National Library System. There are numerous free Public Services: consultation of online periodicals, both at home and on-site, home loan of printed works, audiobooks, films, books for the visually impaired, e-books, interlibrary loans, internet access and Wi-Fi.
The library organizes guided visits for schools, training workshops and creative expression for children and adults, book presentations, conferences and other cultural activities such as reading groups and exhibitions.
