Among the most loved dishes in the world, three are from Lazio

According to a survey, carried out during the World Pasta Day”, celebrated on October 25, 2024, three traditional recipes from Lazio are ranked in the top ten of the Italian dishes most appreciated by foreign tourists. The event, organised by the “Unione Italiana Food” and the “International Pasta Organisation”, promotes the excellences of the Italian culinary tradition.

The absolute winner is Pasta alla Carbonara, a Roman traditional first course, the undisputed icon of the Italian cuisine in the world. Among the top ten most famous dishes are the Bucatini all’Amatriciana, ranked fourth, and the Spaghetti Cacio e Pepe, at the fifth place.

These are the scores obtained by the top ten Italian pasta dishes on a scale from zero to ten:

Pasta alla Carbonara (7.8), Lasagne alla bolognese (7), Pasta al pomodoro (6.9), Spaghetti alle vongole (6.8), Bucatini all’Amatriciana (6.7), Spaghetti Cacio e Pepe (5.3), Tortellini in brodo (4.3), Pasta alla Norma (3.8), Trofie al pesto (3.4), Orecchiette con cime di rapa (2.9).
