Santa Marinella stretches along the Southern Etrurian Coast of the Tyrrhenian Sea, sheltered by the Tolfa Mountains. Its many inlets and varied seabed create waves, appreciated by surfers from all over Europe. Every year, the best young athletes compete for the title of Italian Champion in the various age categories.

The seabed also offers a magnificent underwater landscape. Its conformation is mainly characterised by stones, rocks and inlets, which are the usual habitats for a wide variety of Mediterranean marine fauna.

Thanks to the crystal clear waters of the sea, the coast and beaches of Santa Marinella are also very popular with bathers, not only during the summer season.

Worth a visit is the Maiorca Park, with its terraced stilt houses on wooden pillars that offer, at sunset, an unforgettable spectacle of lights.

The ancient history of Santa Marinella is testified by Castles, Roman villas, and ruins. The territory also preserves impressive archaeological sites, such as Castrum Novum, a Roman maritime colony from 264 BC, the ancient Etruscan settlement of Pyrgi, and the numerous Roman bridges on the ancient Via Aurelia.

But the true jewel of Santa Marinella is the Castle of Santa Severa, a few kilometres from the Riserva naturale di Macchiatonda, one of the most enchanting places in Lazio of enormous historical, cultural and naturalistic value.

Today, the Medieval Castle is visitable all year, and hosts exhibitions, events, concerts, guided tours, sport activities, and much more. This magical manor kissed by the sea also houses a hostel for young people and families with fourteen rooms and forty beds.

Villa La Saracena is one of the Historic Residences of Lazio, a modern architectural work designed by architect Luigi Moretti in 1957. It is a single-family villa built along the route connecting the city to the sea, thus offering two distinct views. The floor plan of Villa La Saracena follows the layout of an open-courtyard villa. The villa was designated a protected monument in 2010 by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage.
