In the towns of Ciociaria you will find many traditional markets and local fairs.
The Frosinone Antiques and Crafts Fair is held on the first Sunday of every month in Piazza Valchera and surrounding streets, hosting 100 stands with handicrafts, antiques and copper and wrought iron products. Also in Frosinone, the Second-Hand and Antiques Market is held on the first Sunday of the month (except July and August) in Piazza Turriziali , with over 80 stands.
In Cassino the Second Hand and Antique Market is held on the third Sunday of the month (except August) in the central Corso Repubblica, while in Fiuggi the first weekend of the month it is the turn of the Porta Romana Market in the historical centre.
In the town of Alatri, around the 10 January the Winter Fair is held. An astonishing range of goods includes huge umbrellas and items in riding leather. Beautiful embroidery and lace articles may be bought in Anagni , and the “ciocie” (traditional footwear originally worn by peasants and shepherds) are available at the Second-Hand and Antiques Market , held on the second Sunday of the month in the historical centre.
What’s more, Ciociaria is renowned for its excellent wine, Cesanese del Piglio, and for its spirits and liqueurs, produced and sold by the monks of the Trisulti Carthusian Monastery in Collepardo.
