The “Latium World Folkloric Festival – Music, Dance and Popular Arts from the world is an extraordinary event which takes place between the end of July and the first week of August, in the spirit of Peace, Solidarity and Tolerance. The Festival will be travelling for thirteen days throughout Lazio, carrying around traditional, folk and multi-ethnic music and dance performances, as well as tastings of ethnic food. The event originated from the important old “Festival della Collina” in Cori, which promoted folk culture from all over the world, and the traditions of the Lazio Region.

The support of the global CIOFF® (Conseil International des Organizations de Festivals de Folklore et d’Arts Traditionnels), a UNESCO official partner, has been fundamental. At the 2013 General Assembly in Paris, it obtained the coveted «CIOFF® International Festival». Furthermore, the students from the local Istituti Comprensivi Statali created projects with the aim of passing on local and worldwide popular traditions, accompanied by a memorandum of understanding signed with the Observatory on Traditional and Popular Cultures of the “LUNID – Free University of Human Rights”.
