The 13th century castle, small palaces and a beautiful alley adorned with arches and loggias: Falvaterra offers peace, views and speleo-tourism in the famous Grotte.

Beautifully preserved, the small village in southern Latium overlooks the Sacco River, with a priceless view of the entire Ciociaria region.

But its pride and joy is the natural monument ‘Grotte di Falvaterra e Rio Obaco’, a large natural park of 130 hectares, with a system of karstic caves more than 5 kilometres long, underground lakes and waterfalls, where the adventure-loving tourist will find deep blue water, cold but enchanting water, passages to be done safely attached to ropes and with a guide to ascend the small waterfalls or cross the natural pools, with your feet in the water and your nose in the air to admire the magic of the white stalactites in the caves. Not to be missed is a trip to the Pastena Caves at certain times of the year: but here we enter the specific domain of cave divers, experts and those with appropriate equipment.

For everyone, on the other hand, there are the local products, from the excellent ricotta, caciotta and marzoline cheeses to the local oil and wine.

And peppers alla vinaccia, a family recipe handed down for generations, very popular with local families.
