In the world classification of the 100 ideal cities to be experienced on foot, GuruWalk gives Rome the first place.
GuruWalk is a platform and app, which offers more than 2,000 free walking tours in different languages, in over 100 countries around the world. It has compared 800 destinations in 120 countries based on the bookings and the visits to the website. The study was carried out in one year, between April 2023 and April 2024. Therefore, the visitors themselves determined the Top-100 of the cities easiest to be explored on foot, where to discover surprising views of the most and less known monuments.
“In Rome, tourists are attracted by iconic monuments such as the Colosseum, the Roman Forums, and the Pantheon, living witnesses of the glorious Ancient Rome, but the huge number of monuments sometimes confuses the tourists, who don’t even know where to start. In fact, it is not surprising to find more guided tours in Rome than in any other city.”
This is how GuruWalk briefly describes Rome and its victory. Among the other Italian cities, Venice, Milan, Naples, and Bologna also entered the Top-100, but, together with Rome, Caput Mundi, only Florence reached the Top-10 at the fifth place.
A nice present for the 2777th birthday of the Eternal City!
