Through the project “MURALES: arte contemporanea in metro”, the construction site of the Metro C underground line in piazza Venezia in Rome turns into a spectacular work of art.
Until 2026, the giant silos will become huge canvases for the artists who, with their works, will combine the historical memory and contemporaneity of the City. The project is the symbol of the eternally transforming City of Rome.
Every four months, brilliant artists such as Elisabetta Benassi, Liliana Moro, Marinella Senatore, Nico Vascellari, and the “Toiletpaper” collective will take turns. Pietro Ruffo will debut with his “Costellazioni di Roma”, a journey through cosmic mythologies and the ancient Rome topographic lines drawn by the architect archaeologist Luigi Canina.
The initiative is promoted by the consortium company led by “Webuild” and “Vianini Lavori”, in charge for the construction of the underground line C, with the patronage of Roma Capitale.
