Campocatino is a ski resort in the province of Frosinone, set in the splendid karstic basin at 1800 meters above sea level and surrounded by the Apennine peaks of the Ernici and Cantari Mountains.

A total of 15 kilometres of pure adrenaline with 13 slopes of various levels, from black for the more experienced, to blue for beginners and finally, red for medium difficulty. In the Campocatino station you’ll find a beautiful panoramic track that lets you admire the beauties of lower Lazio and on the best days, even the Tyrrhenian Sea. Not only is there downhill skiing, but also a trail for cross-country skiers and a very modern snow park for snowboarding and acrobatics.

A good snowmaking system means the slopes set in nature are open for the entire winter season. The beauty of the Apennines is that they offer numerous hiking trails where you can also practice ski mountaineering, ski hiking, and off-piste where you can try both skiing and snowboarding.

Beyond the snow there is more … in Campocatino, there is the Astronomical Observatory working under a very dark sky with sophisticated research tools. For this reason, it can now be considered one of the most advanced Italian and European amateur observatories.
