In the Appia Antica park, a walkway of monuments and sepulchres along the regina viarium (queen of the roads), an excursion within everyone’s reach. From Porta San Sebastiano, start pedalling along the ancient Appia.

Passing under the bridges of the highway and railway road, you arrive at the Church of Quo Vadis and further on, the entrance to the Catacombs of Callixtus. Leaving Appia Pignatelli to the left, continue straight on up to where the basilica and Catacombs of San Sebastiano face the road.

Difficulty: easy

Note: it is recommended that you walk your bike in the tracts with the original paving.

What to see: Porta San Sebastiano and the Museo delle Mura (Museum of the Walls), the Catacombs of Callixtus and of San Sebastiano, Circus of Maxentius, the tomb of Cecilia Metella and Villa dei Quintili.
