According to Legambiente, the Lakes of Lazio are in an excellent state of health. Good news have been announced by the team of the monitoring boat “Goletta dei Laghi”, who seasonally reports critical issues and promotes virtuous examples of sustainable management. Through the analyses of water samples, the experts identify the pollution by faecal microorganisms in potentially critical areas, signalled by citizens and clubs to the “SOS Goletta service”.
Out of the twenty-five heterogeneous lakes sampled in Lazio, only three include just one critical area: the Lakes of Bolsena (VT), Sabaudia (LT), and Albano (RM), while the Lakes of Bracciano (RM), Fondi and Fogliano (LT), Vico (VT), Canterno (FR), Turano (RI), and Salto (RI) resulted within lawful limits.
As for the polluted tracts detected, a request is immediately going to be submitted to the competent authorities for a quick intervention in the problem, so as to restore the extraordinary natural beauty of Lazio, an important resource for sustainable development.
