The 91st International Horse Show is back in Rome from May 22 to 26, 2024, an international sporting event held on the evocative Piazza di Siena in Villa Borghese, the most beautiful Park in the world, as described by Antonio Canova.
The four day competition will involve 82 female and male riders, including four Top 10 and eleven Top 30 from the world ranking. Twenty-seven Azzurri have also been called up.
Seventeen nations will be represented, ten during the prestigious historic “Coppa delle Nazioni Intesa Sanpaolo” on Friday 24 (Australia, Austria, Belgium, United Arab Emirates, Germany, Ireland, Mexico, United States of America, Sweden and, of course, Italy), and seven, with individual representatives, in the remaining races (Brazil, Denmark, France, Great Britain, Holland, Norway, and Switzerland). All the international competitions will take place between the green Oval in Piazza di Siena and the Galoppatoio, and it will be possible to watch them, free of charge, from the ancient grandstands and the many green areas all around the Oval. The final race, the “Rolex Gran Premio Roma”, is scheduled for Sunday, May 26. On the occasion of the event, it will be possible to visit the prestigious Villa Borghese and a few exhibitions from various artists, such as “Questo è Aquilino figlio del vento” by the famous horse painter Camillo Rospigliosi, in the “Museo Pietro Canonica”, right in front of the Casino dell’Orologio.
On Wednesday, May 22, the opening day, do not miss the concert by the orchestra conducted by Maestro Alvise Casellati, and, on Friday, May 24, the traditional air show of the Frecce Tricolori.
The rich programme of national and international competitions can be consulted on the official website of the event.
