The Morlupo Sausage Festival, the Pangiallo and Polenta Festival in Riano, the Grape and Typical Local Products Festival in Zagarolo, the Hazelnut Festival in Caprarola and the Aleatico in Festa in Gradoli have received the prestigious brand “Sagra di Qualità” from the Senato della Republica.
The certification is selected and issued by Unpli (Unione Nazionale Pro Loco d’Italia), which on March 11, 2024, awarded the 45 best festivals in Italy. To obtain this important promotion brand, the events must be more than five years old and respect the rigorous criteria of uniqueness, sustainability, safety and hygiene of food products.
The Pro Loco Authorities of the awarded villages have been very satisfied for getting their effort in enhancing the traditions and beauty of their territories recognized.

The Sausage Festival in Morlupo
It takes place in the last weekend of October. Since 1967, the Festival has been a historical tradition renowned throughout the Lazio region. During the festival, thousands of sausages are cooked on a large grill in the village main square.
The Pangiallo and Polenta Festival in Riano
It takes place on December 8 at the foot of the Ludovisi Boncompagni Baronial Castle, where exhibitions of handcrafted nativity scenes are displayed, and singing is performed.
The Hazelnut Festival in Caprarola
It is held at the end of August with tastings in the streets of the historic centre and in the many cellars and restaurants of the village, which offer products based on the typical Gentile Romana Dop Hazelnut.
The Festival of Grapes and Typical Local Products in Zagarolo
It is celebrated at the end of September with the historical procession recalling the Battle of Lepanto led by Prince Pompeo Colonna and the parade of folkloristic floats offering wine, sweets and typical products.
Aleatico In Festa in Gradoli
It takes place in the last weekend of July and the first of August. It promotes the renowned quality wine Aleatico di Gradoli DOC. The event is entirely dedicated to the precious drink and accompanied by lots of music.
