The Competition rewarded those residences representing the historical, cultural, and artistic tradition of the territory across generations. The Jury selected the Baronial Castle of Riano, which originally, creatively and artistically represented the spiritual atmosphere of Christmas, using quality materials and techniques related to the territory.

The traditional Christmas setting and the Nativity scene, installed in the Castle, bore the three colours of the Municipal coat of arms: green, red and white, and the two alleys leading to the historic centre and the square overlooked by the Castle were decorated with garlands.

In the ground floor room inside the medieval tower, a House of Santa Claus had been installed. On December 8, the children, welcomed by two giant Nutcrackers, dropped their letters into a handmade mailbox. The lit fireplace, the carpet, the decorated tree, the giant fabric sweets, the cardboard gingerbread, and the wooden train were also handcrafted.

On the main floor, a room with fireplace had been embellished for the Epiphany with festoons, hanging socks and crocheted cardboard parcels.

The crib was set at the foot of the village of Riano and the Baronial Castle, entirely in wood.

The Pro Loco Riano Aps, the Municipality of Riano and the women of the historic centre organized the exhibition. Except for plastic items, all decorations are handcrafted and made with recycled material.
