Lazio received the Alis Mention at the “Green Road Award”, the Italian Oscar of Cyclotourism, thanks to its project “Gran Tour del Lazio”, a model of sustainable mobility.

The over 1,000 km ring cycle route GTL starts from Rome, and, after winding its way through historical paths in the region’s five provinces, returns to the Capital. The itinerary has been divided into eighteen thematic stages, all connected by railway stations, so to be reached from Rome, via regional trains with bike transport service, in a maximum of two hours. The GTL project, the first ring cycle route in the world entirely served by railway, makes possible for the Region to be discovered from north to south, with its history, traditions and flavours, in an alternative and sustainable way.
