From July 18 to October 30, 2026, in Celleno and in the province of Viterbo, the ninth edition of the free Biennale Viterbo Arte Contemporanea will take place. It will host exhibitions and workshops about the role of art as a mean of dialogue and evolution.
With the title ““Appartenenza e Radici: opportunità od ostacolo?“, the 2026 edition of the Biennale Arte Viterbo will offer artists, schools, young creatives, and local communities the chance to reflect on the meaning of identity and on whether todays cultural and territorial roots represent an opportunity of dialogue or a limit to creative freedom. The theme of the exhibition will be expressed through various techniques, such as painting, sculpture, photography, installation, video art, and interdisciplinary influences. Collateral events will also be organised on the inauguration day, such as the Night of the Harpy, and the exhibition “2025 Tracce di Pace”, a collection of over 900 MDF panels created for the Jubilee. Other initiatives will include various exhibitions, site-specific interventions, performances, and commemorations of local artists, such as Alberto Morucci and Vincenzo Eulisse with his Fanta Biennale. The event is also an opportunity for international exchanges, like the first Italy-Brazil cultural meeting, culminating in the creation of a mural by Guilherme Kramer and Marcela Novais. Finally, during the ceremony of awards, three prizes “Arte Emergente” will be assigned to young talented young people under 28 and academies. A new digital platform will allow remote access to information about events, meetings, and exhibitions.
