The Rome’s Municipal Rose Garden Reopens to the Public

Il Roseto comunale di Roma riapre i cancelli dall’inizio della primavera fino al 14 giugno 2026 per accogliere gratuitamente tutti i visitatori che vorranno scoprire e ammirare le varietà di rose custodite all’interno.

From early spring until June 14, 2026, the Rome’s Municipal Rose Garden will welcome free of charge all visitor willing to admire numerous varieties of extraordinary roses.

Immersed in nature on the slopes of the Aventine Hill, the garden faces the ruins of the Palatine Hill and overlooks the Circus Maximus. One of the most evocative walks in Rome and Lazio, it houses an amazing botanical collection of over 1,100 rose varieties from all over the world, from the Far East to South Africa, from Old Europe to New Zealand, and even from the Americas. The amphitheatre-shaped area is divided into two sections, the upper one displays a collection of ancient and modern roses, while the lower houses the ones participating in the competition “Premio Roma”, along with the species who won the previous editions.

The Rose Garden will be open to the public from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. every day, including holidays, until Sunday, June 14, 2026. The competition awards ceremony will be held on May 17, at 6:00 p.m. in Via di Valle Murgia, and the area will be visitable from Sunday, May 17, until Sunday, June 14, 2026, observing the opening times of the garden.
