The initiative “Cinema Itinerante: la Magia del Cinema nei Borghi del Lazio” kicked off on August 11, 2026 in Arpino. Running until September 6, the project involves ten Lazio municipalities, where several famous Italian movies will be screened on squares, at beaches, and in parks. The magic of this free traveling initiative will favour those villages lacking movie theatres, and will transform them for one night into open-air cinemas under the stars, highlighting their historical, artistic, and scenic heritage The summer 2026 programme includes timeless classics such as “Splendor” (August 11 in Arpino), “Il Marchese del Grillo” (August 14 in Bracciano), “Un sacco bello” (August 18 in Carpineto Romano and September 5 in Manziana), “Il Postino” (August 21 in Calcata), “Non ci resta che piangere” (August 27 in Capranica), “Febbre da cavallo” (August 31 in Stimigliano and September 4 in Paliano), and “Bianco, Rosso e Verdone” (September 3 in Bassano Romano). The closing night, on September 6, will be dedicated to the movie “Lo chiamavano Trinità”, which will be screened in Roccantica. The project was conceived by the “Cinema Palma di Trevignano Romano“ and the “Laboratorio 109 ETS” and funded by Regione Lazio.
