The Gardens include several sections, each one hosting different precious floral species: the Valley of the Ancient Roses and its lake, the Orange Garden, the White Avenue, the Olive Garden, the Blue Meadow, and the Spanish Pool. An expert phytological guide will be at your disposal to accompany you through this enchanting experience.

The property, a rural area on the Lazio coast, was acquired in 1956 by the Marquis Gallarati Scotti and his wife, Lavinia Taverna, who named it Landriana, in homage to the owner’s family of origin. At that time, the territory was totally deserted and littered with the mines abandoned by the Allied after their landing at Anzio during the Second World War.

The Gardens were at first conceived with the aim of planting trees, that could offer some shade and protection against the strong winds from the sea. Later, the Marquise was encouraged by a friend to plant some seeds, thus creating a magic universe of sounds, scents and colours.

The site reached its highest levels with Russell Page, a famous English landscape architect, who harmoniously combined an alternation of flowers, shrubs, hedges and trees.
