In Spring, the colours of the rainbow in Sabina range from the azure of the skies to the intense blue of the waters, from the green of the hills and mountains to the red of the sunsets. We can admire all these nuances while practicing several sports in the Sabine small villages and larger ones.
We can touch the blue sky with a finger while on board of a glider. The thrill and charm of a silent flight in Rieti will be a dream come true. Experience the emotion of flying over the ridges of Mount Terminillo or above Valle Santa aboard a two-seat glider piloted by an experienced instructor from the gliding school, accompanied only by the rustle of the wind.

Mount Gorzano
Now put your feet on the ground and start to climb, at a slow but steady pace, the green peaks more than 2,000 metres above sea level. Let us venture out and explore Mount Terminillo and Mount Elefante, with its thrilling crests, or the impressive Mount Cambio, which dominates the Alta Valle del Velino up to the tops of the Monti della Laga, a natural amphitheatre on the shores of Lake Scandarello. Thousands of paths run through the mountains, crossing graceful waterfalls, springs, stream fords, green pastures and gorges. Discover this natural spectacle while practicing trekking, horse riding, canyoning and mountain biking.
The blue lakes and rivers of the Rieti area will fascinate us. The more adventurous will experience Flyboarding on Lake Turano and, if you prefer, you can practice canoeing, kayaking, fishing and sport fishing excursions or enjoy aperitifs and food experiences on a sailing boat. Finally, we can boldly sail on a wakeboard or cycle along Lake Salto, whose area was defined by Cesare Cantù as the Switzerland of Italy for its fjords.
Take a walk through the greenery of the Lungo and Ripasottile Lakes Reserve, ride along the cycle path of Conca Reatina among the yellow of the wheat fields “campi di grano” and admire the blue, clear water “acqua azzurra, acqua chiara” that inspired Lucio Battisti, the famous songwriter from Poggio Bustone

Sunset in Casperia
And, at the end of the day, let us enjoy a healthy urban trekking walk and be captivated by the sunset in Casperia, quoted by Virgil in the Aeneid, which shows its enchanting rainbow colours. In this village, declared Borgo Arancione by theTouring Club Italiano, cars are not permitted. The medieval historic centre of Casperia can be accessed on foot only through Porta Romana and Porta Santa Maria the one with the clock, also known as Porta Reatina. You will get lost in a labyrinth of narrow streets and winding stairways, towers, ravelins and casemates. The olive groves, from which the Sabina PDO extra virgin olive oil is produced, extend as far as the eye can see in the surrounding countryside.
Sabina is waiting for you!
