Ten coastal towns in Lazio, eight of which in the province of Latina, have been awarded the 2026 Blue Flag. The prestigious banner will fly in Formia (Gianola, Vindicio), Gaeta (Arenauta, Ariana, Sant’Agostino, Serapo), Sperlonga (Levante, Ponente, Lago Lungo, Bazzano), Latina (Marina di Latina), Sabaudia (Litorale), Fondi (Levante, Ponente), Terracina (Levante, Ponente), and Minturno (Ponente). Unfortunately, the coastline of San Felice Circeo coastline failed to meet the required criteria. In the province of Rome, the awarded towns are Anzio (Levante, Ponente) and the lakeside beach of Trevignano Romano (Via della Rena).

The prestigious recognition is awarded annually by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) to seaside, marine, or lakeside resorts that meet environmental and sustainability criteria of water quality, beach cleanliness, waste management, services, and, above all, enhancement of the local area. For these reasons, the Blue Flag is the right investment for each municipality in environmental protection, tourism promotion, and hospitality. In short, it is the sea that must be preserved and enhanced for the benefit of all.
